About Kendriya Vidyalaya
The Kendriya Vidyalaya are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education (H.R.D.), Govt. of India, New delhi in 1965, taking 20 Regimental schools. At present there are 929 schools including 3 schools abroad (i.e. Musco, Kathamandu and Teheran). These are Co-educational vidyalayas primarily cater to the educational needs of the children of Central Government employees including defence personnel liable to frequent transfers through out the country and floating population.
